Lily loves to play on her mat with all of her toys. She is especially fond of her penguin (she gets that from her Daddy).

Stats and Daycare
We took Lily to the doctor March 28 for her 6 month appointment (a month late). She was 16 pounds, 10 ounces and 26.5 inches long. That put in the the 25th to 50th percentile for everything. She's just an average/ordinary, healthy baby! She had to have two injections at this appointment, and she did really well with them. She cried of course, but she was fine once she was dressed and she slept it off. Unfortunately, she has skin like her mommy so the shots bruised her even though her nurse was easy with her. The bruises didn't seem to bother her though and she was back to her normal self the next day. We were really excited to find out that her next visit (9 months) is SHOT FREE! I'm sure she'll be excited too when she sees that going to the doctor doesn't always mean shots.
I love our daycare center. I remember freaking out this past summer trying to find one that I felt comfortable leaving her in. I was very hesitant because I knew how many hours she'd be spending there, and how young she was going to be when she was going to have to start. After I started workdays at school, I was told to check out Wee School by several of my coworkers. I did, and I loved it! It was such an inviting place, and I could tell the staff really loved what they were doing. Everyday I am more at ease about the decision to put her there. She is so happy there, and enjoys socializing with the other babies. Her teachers say that she will sit on the floor and play all day if she has someone to play with. She also has a little boy that she loves to hold hands with when they're playing (Daddy isn't too happy about this one). I am so grateful that this door opened, and I can feel so at ease about the place that she is spending her days.

Thankful
Tonight I am thankful that we are all safe and sound. There have been tornadoes all around us tonight, and places near us have been hit. Thankfully we are at home hanging out safe and sound.I have a sweet little baby sleeping beside me, and a houseful of boys playing video games :) We were some of the lucky ones that didn't even lose power! It's so bad that we received a phone call from the police department to stay off of the roads so they could get things back in order.

Sorry So Long
I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Things got crazy with sickness, end of a grading period, way too many meetings, long hours at work, and a field trip to update.
Lily is doing well. She can sit very well without any support, and pretty much hates to lay down now. She has figured out how to get herself up into a sitting position yet, so she screams for Mommy or Daddy to get her there :) She is still working on trying to crawl. She can spin herself around in a circle, and wiggle to get what she wants, but she hasn't figured out how to get up on her hands and knees just yet.
She loves to eat! (We think she gets this pretty honestly.) I have been making her food, and there isn't anything that she does like! So far she's eaten:
She also is doing really well with a sippy cup. She loves water out of the sippy, but doesn't care for juice (this was given to her by daycare, and I could have told them this because she only gets water at home).
Her new favorite toy is a giraffe that sings the ABCs that Aunt Millie gave her. Whenever she is upset or mad about something, we can get that thing singing, and all goes back to being right in the world. She also enjoys anything that she can get into her mouth. She loves to try and play with cell phones and remotes, but we try to keep those out of her little fingers. She also has this super cute Minnie Mouse that Grammy Debbie and Grandpa Hoy gave her that she looks just like when she sleeps. I so wanted to take a picture of this the other day, but decided not to because I didn't want to wake her up. She also loves books! When we read to her we have to give her a book to play with and read another one, but she will sit through book after book. She still loves her jumper too! When she's not too tired she will bounce in it for 30 minutes or more. Her favorite thing is when someone will sit/lay on the floor and play with her. As long as someone is with her, she will play forever.
I can't believe how fast time is passing! She's going to be a year old before I know it. I will post some new pictures later on today, I hear a baby waking up :)
